Corian Design Competition - Design Concept
Title of Piece ‐ “PEALING BACK THE HEART”

The concept for my design is based on discovery and awareness, challenging you to look beyond. Pealing back the layers of Atlanta! Over the past 4 years my experience in the city has been great. At first glance you see many exciting things about the city and think “that’s it”, but there is so much more to Atlanta than meets the eye. Every day I learn more about community festivals, creative activities, fashion and photography events and interesting get‐away locations. So I challenge myself to keep looking for more.

This design showcases the flexibility and seamlessness of the Corian® and is supported by the outstretched planes and central core. The planes exhibit the thermoformed capabilities of the material. Each individual piece is unique and morphs into its own shape. It is a representation of us the people who make up Atlanta. Lighting is centrally located in the heart of the design providing for a nice outward
glow.

A quote about what Atlanta means to you
“To me Atlanta is the heart and soul of the south and offers a place for everyone.” So I challenge you fellow Atlantan’s to get involved in building your community ‐ volunteer!
